Omer Lee Howell, 92, of Springdale, died Friday, November 27, 2020, at his home. He was born July 14, 1928 in Mena to John and Mary Maude (Klutts) Howell. He married Virgie Watson March 4, 1949 after two years of courtship.
Omer was a window and door maker at Ozark Sash & Door and retired after 30 years of service. He was very passionate about singing and playing his guitar and harmonicas. He traveled and lead The Howell Family Gospel Singers for many years. Omer loved whittling and woodwork, and tinkering with things; duct tape or super glue fixed almost everything. He also enjoyed motorcycles and working on cars. Above all he loved the Lord and dedicated his whole life to God and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie Howell; seven children, Gary Howell and wife Debbie, Ronnie Howell and wife Maryann, Cynthia Reed, James Howell and wife Lorna, Kenneth Howell and partner Kelli Lindsey, Donna Kling and husband Heath, Jeff Howell and wife Stephanie; five sisters, Euple Harp, Betty McChristian, Faye Wiser, Janice Krumholt, Inice Kelly; 29 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three children, Jimmy, Karen and Jerry Howell; a grandson, Ronnie Howell, Jr.; four brothers and two sisters.
