Harold Irvin Sitlington, 93, died Saturday, January 2, at his home in Springdale. He was born November 16, 1927, to John and Mary Agnes Sitlington. Harold served two years in Hawaii with the Marine Corp. He worked for 29 years as a construction equipment lead mechanic/shop foreman for McClinton Anchor. After his retirement, he raised beef cattle on the family farm. Harold was a Charter Member of the Benton County Bermuda Growers, where he and his sons were in the top 10 out of 144 producers for Top Quality hay for several years. They also won the National Bermuda Hay Competition for two consecutive years.
Harold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jimmie Lee Sitlington; three sons, Billy Sitlington and wife Charlotte of Springdale, Sammy Sitlington and wife Jane of Oklahoma City, Tim Sitlington and wife Meyck of Bentonville; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Moulton of Skowhegan, ME, Louise Boggs of Waldron, AR, and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen Hicks, Caroline Boggs, and Melba Sitlington; five brothers, J.D. Sitlington, Walter Sitlington, George Sitlington, Jimmy Sitlington, Richard Sitlington.
