Teresa Sue Vanderboom

Teresa Sue Vanderboom, 66, of Springdale, died Monday, June 15, 2020.  She was born January 23, 1954 in Springdale to Charles “Sandy” and Mary Lucille LeBow Tripp.

Teresa enjoyed her family and friends.  She was a true Arkansas Razorback fan no matter her geographical location when living in the other states of Nebraska and Georgia.  In her younger years Arkansas games were a reason to throw a party and invite neighbors over to “Call the Hogs”!  When given the opportunity she attended Razorback games regardless the year or the score.  Despite the decline in her health she “tuned-in” and dressed up head to toe in her game gear.  She loved antiques, jewelry, Catholic Medals, Rosaries and knick-knacks.  She loved to start and finish collections of all sorts.  One of her finest known talents was to repair just about anything with a magic marker, super glue, scissors, needle and thread.  She was a devout Catholic and stayed to true to her religion.

Teresa is survived by her mother; two daughters, Johanna Rodgers Pianalto and husband Brock, Christina Vanderboom Bell and husband Michael; one son, Thomas Sharp; one brother, Chuck Tripp and wife Cindy; and six grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, David Vanderboom; youngest daughter, Mary Jean Vanderboom; and step-father, Joseph Taldo.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to Angels at Risk, 150 S. Barrington Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90049-3315.  This non-profit organization focuses on education, treatment and private counseling for teenagers and their family for drug addiction.  This charity was chosen in lieu of flowers by our family because it is something close to our hearts that is often misunderstood, understudied and ignored.

I thought of Sue as my own family. Ever since I met that family when I was about 13, I felt as if they were my own family. Many memories with Sue. She’s gonna be missed.

I love you with my whole heart. You were a misunderstood soul who only saw the best in everyone, and for that I could never thank you enough. You might not have have realized how much you taught me as a person. Our last conversation still makes me smile and cry at the same time. See you again. ~with love

Oh Christina, in one of our talks just a few days before her home going I said tigers; Sue, if you’ve never confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, do it now. And I lead her in the sinners prayer. And now she’s in her mansion in heaven ☝️😃

I will never forget you miss teresa. You meant a lot to me, every Monday morning you were the first one I would go see we would laugh I would fix your tv and do whatever else you needed. You gave me serenity in that room every time I was in there. You were very loved and will be missed deeply.

Sue and I were close friends growing up and I have fond memories of going to her house for sleepovers, games and dance parties .She was so pretty and fun to be around. We didn’t stay close as we grew older but I am so glad for the memories I have. Praying for the family for God to heal your loss.
