Peggy Carolyn Swafford

Peggy Carolyn Swafford, 82, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019.  She was born August 14, 1936 in St. Joe, Arkansas, to Floyd Benjamin and Ruth Caroline Russell Henley.  Peggy’s passion in life was being a caregiver to many people over the years.  She was devoted to her family who also loved her very dearly, and was a charter member of First United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville.

She is survived by three daughters, Lucreta Hampton (Ron), Susan Long (Larry), and Kim Reynolds (Steven) all of Fayetteville; two brothers including her twin, Charles Henley, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Orville Henley of Winona, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jerome, Carey, Breanna, Dedee; and eight great-grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Swafford, a granddaughter, Devin Long, four sisters and four brothers.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 1, at First United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville with interment at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice.

I was so blessed by this precious saint of God to have known her and being able to be in her home and precious memories as a young child growing up. She had a positive compassionate influence on my life. Earth’s loss I feel sure is heaven’s gain. She has a brand new home free of pain. Prayers of comfort for the precious family during this difficult time.

I will never forget all of the times that I spent with sister Peggy home visitation on Saturdays when we work bus Ministry, she was always so kind and tender-hearted. And I’ll never forget time that we were out on visitation one Saturday and some dog’s got after us I ran as fast as I could to the car but she didn’t comes as fast and that dog didn’t bite her that day thank the Lord. My dear Grandma! I loved spending many a weekends and summers with you. How you’d meet mom half way and always had a big box of tootsie roll pops to keep you awake on the trip.
