My heart is saddened but rejoicing knowing she’s with the Lord. It was Pastor Disney, and Mrs. Disney house on November 7, 1984, that I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at their living room sofa, never forget the wonderful kind person she always was to me; home was always open! Today I am a pastor at Grace Independent Baptist Church because of the prayers, and love of Mrs. Disney.

In the 70s and 80s Mission Boulevard Baptist Church was packed with young mothers and tons of babies. Martha loved each one of us. She encouraged us like a mother would, yet interacted with us as a wonderful friend. Her heart was full of love and laughter. She was an example for us all to follow, and I loved her. Brian, Marietta, Aleta, Michelle, Michael, Rene, Lianna, and all the grandchildren, I’m so, so sorry for your loss. I know you’ll miss her so much.

Miss Martha eternally changed the course of my life and I will be forever grateful for her life. Even as a child, I remember her extraordinary love. When I had sleep overs with her daughter Michelle, she treated me like her own. She always had a full table and rarely had empty arms. Her hugs were the best! She also knew how to handle our teenage shenanigans! I still remember her threatening Michelle and I with her fly-swatter when she suspected we were going to sneak out the window. She always knew when we were up to something! I will… Read more »

Martha was a generous soul filled with the love of God and a desire to serve others. I will always remember the Monday evening dinners she prepared in the little farm house when I first came to Arkansas. She was a pillar of faith in the church and in her family. And now she is singing praises to our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ with the host of angels in the throne room of God. Prayers are going up for all those who love her. She will be missed.

Pastor Brian & family, MBBC family, & all who knew Martha, even though we know she is in heaven we will still be grieving her not being with us anymore. From years ago, I enjoyed every time I got to be around Martha! When we and others were taking turns having lunch at our houses for the workers who were building the church building I got to eat at the Disney home at least a couple of times. I loved her food! I loved her for so many reasons!!!

Mrs. Martha truly possessed “the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” Her kindness and radiant smile is what I will remember most about her. She was always ready to listen, and give encouragement. The Lord has called home one of His best, and we celebrate her liberation from the flesh even as we mourn the gaping hole her departure has left. May the God of peace give comfort to her family. I love you all.

Mrs. Disney, I salute you and your family. I sincerely appreciate every sacrifice you and your husband made to make a difference in the lives of so many family’s in NWA. I won’t soon forget your labor of love. It was refreshing to see a lady stand by her husband out in the community and investing in a dream! I appreciate you giving yourself so willing. I am thankful your school wasn’t a perfect place. It helped us to fit there. Our family reaped the benifits of your investment for over 15 years, while attending. It was a honor to… Read more »
