James Wesley Gosdin

James Wesley Gosdin, 82, of Prairie Grove, died Monday, December 31, 2018.  He was born June 13, 1936 in Gilmer, Texas to Jewel William and Thelma R. (DeSpain) Gosdin.

He is survived by five children, Joel Wayne Gosdin of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Perry Don Gosdin of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jayme Kay Petrie of Burleson, Texas, Troy Enochs and wife Debbie of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Eric Jefferies and wife Melleni of Ft Worth, Texas; one brother, Calvin Ray Gosdin and wife Mary of Sulphur Springs, Texas; three sisters, Joyce Mask of Gladewater, Texas, Shirley Rutledge and husband Terry of Saginaw, Texas, Carolyn Dortch and husband Jack of Colleyville, Texas; and several grandchildren including Amber Napier and husband Chris of Prairie Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Triplet; a step-daughter, Tami Roberts; two brothers, William Maurice Gosdin and John Harlon Gosdin; and a sister, Anniemae Geraldine “Jean” Arrington.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 5, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.

Thank you for the short time we had together when I lived in Fayetteville. Working at Troy and Debbie’s shop was an experience and you were a huge part of it. To the family, thanks for sharing James. I learned a lot from him in the short time that I got with him. Plus he had some good stories about Troy!

He was a very good step father! I have a lot of memories from the past. He gave Troy and I a very good life.. always helping with our school work to taking us on vacations! Showing Troy and Eric how to build houses! Troy and I would always ride in the back of his truck on top of the tool box lol .
He was a great man ❤️
